2005  EUROPEAN  KANGEIKO
(winter training)

BRENT HIRE SENSEI
January 29-30, 2005
München, Germany

European Shinkendo-ka!

We stand on the brink of a new year and as our European shinkendo family grows we will have even more opportunities to share our mutual passion for Shinkendo and Aikibuken with each another. As all of you who took part in the European seminars of 2004 in Belgium and Germany know, this is a passion that crosses borders, unites and celebrates our diverse cultural backgrounds by allowing us a rich common ground to collaborate and exchange our love of Budo.

To celebrate the New Year with our comrades and colleagues a European Shinkendo Kangeiko has been planned for the last weekend of January near München, Germany. I would like to invite all of you to join us in this brief but intense winter training to liven up your winter spirit and to temper and train your body and mind for the challenges of the coming year.

The seminar is being organized by the Shinkendo instructors of München. Suggested accommodations and driving directions are provided on the web-site. If you are arriving by train or plane you will need to contact Christian Wörl Sensei to arrange for a pick up from the nearest station. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch with me or Wörl Sensei directly.

Tel: +49 (0) 8141-34610-0
Fax: +49 (0) 08141-34610-2

Internet: www.landhotel-gasthof-drexler.de

DIRECTIONS:

The training hall does not have a street address; it can be found between the two towns of Unterschweinbach and Egenhofen in the county (Landkreis) of Fürstenfeldbruck.

By Auto:
Use the A8 and then take the Odelzhausen exit, and then follow the signs in the direction of Egenhofen/Mering and then Fürstenfeldbruck. In between Egenhofen und Unterschweinbach there is a street leading called Oberweikertshofen weg into the forest and the training hall.

By Train or Plane:
Arriving by train or plane on München you need to take the Street-train S8 to Maisach. It's about 10km from here to the area of the training hall and the hotels so you will have to arrange with Wörl Sensei to be picked up from there.

Additional Instructions:
All participants need a Dogi (Judo/Aikido uniform, preferably white) and a Bokuto (wooden sword) and if possible a Bo (2 meter stick) and a Hakama (traditional Japanese splint pants). If you do not have your own Bokuto, you may buy or borrow one at the seminar (Bokuto to borrow are on short supply).

During the daily lunch break students will have time to eat and rest; please bring your own lunch or come prepared to buy lunch at the training hall cafeteria.
